The Operations Manager (OM) reports directly to the CEO and collaborates closely with management team members. The OM oversees daily operations within our fabrication division, focusing on quality, efficiency, and safety. This role requires strategic thinking, process improvement, and leadership, working with sales, production, and installation teams to enhance customer satisfaction. The OM supervises the Editor, Floor Supervisor, CNC Lead, Polishing Lead, and Installation Teams.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Operations & Workflow Management
- Direct and coordinate fabrication operations, ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Manage workflow for cost-effective production to meet target installation dates.
- Collaborate with department leads to plan and align purchasing, inventory, templating/design, fabrication, and installation schedules.
- Support the Floor Supervisor in cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory valuations.
- Ensure a well-maintained plant by coordinating equipment maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
Quality & Safety Compliance
- Establish and uphold quality control for materials, templating, fabrication, and installation processes, ensuring high standards.
- Implement procedures for a clean, safe work environment, ensuring employee training on all compliance and safety requirements.
- Guide the Editor and templating teams to achieve zero-error results.
Financial & Resource Management
- Collaborate with the Controller on financial oversight, optimizing gross margin for the fabrication division.
- Optimize productive time by eliminating redundant and unnecessary tasks.
Employee Management & Development
- Hire, retain, and motivate qualified personnel, including overseeing training, corrective actions, and performance reviews.
- Lead the installation teams, ensuring quality and timely project completion.
- Identify process improvement and cost reduction strategies, enhancing productivity and performance.
Desired Skills and Experience
Technical Skills & Industry Knowledge
- Experience: 5+ years in operations or production management, preferably in stone fabrication or construction.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and inventory management software.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Analytical skills to break down problems and devise effective solutions.

Educational Requirements
- College degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required.
